This is our seventh year of honoring Arky’s memory by hosting a golf outing for friends, family and associates.  Every year it has been a wonderful event, where we get together and reminisce, while also supporting two worthy causes that were important to Arky.  This year has additional meaning to us, since Arky’s father, Royal, was diagnosed with a brain tumor in January.  Fortunately, it appears to have been benign, but the surgery in early February left some lingering after-effects, and as of this writing, Royal is still undergoing therapy in a rehabilitation facility.  We certainly are praying for a full recover, but it reminds us of the devastating effect that brain injuries, internal and external, can cause.  All the more reason to support T.H.E. Brain Trust, which provides support to families and patients of all brain traumas.

The Arky Pollokoff Memorial Golf Outing was started by a group of Arky’s friends who wanted to perpetuate his memory by uniting friends and family in an event that would celebrate Arky’s life and support both T.H.E. Brain Trust and Bucknell University – two institutions that had a great impact on him, and on which he had a great impact.  In the past six years, we have raised over $75,000, which has benefited T.H.E. Brain Trust and The Arky Pollokoff Memorial Scholarship.
